ABOUT

Key Art Artist Movie Poster Irene Llopis.png

Irene Llopis
Illustration & Movie Poster Design Artist.

Currently, I focus on the creative process and design of movie posters, as it combines my passions: creative development, design and illustration, and cinema. I enjoy the various stages of a project’s development, whether it’s brainstorming, selecting the media and techniques to use, or executing the final artwork. I always strive to create images that, in addition to being visually striking, convey a special atmosphere and spark the viewer’s curiosity about the story behind them.

WHY THIS WAY?

HOW I WORK

How Irene Llopis Works: Illustrations and Movie Poster Design
  • To start working on a poster, I need details about the story. It's always best to have images, a trailer, or the full movie. I usually receive the film in post-production or once it's finished, but if that's not possible, I can work with a description that is clear enough to convey what the story wants to express, get to know the characters, the atmospheres, and any other key elements. I need to immerse myself in that world.

  • I start with creative development, generating ideas, concepts, and key elements of the story. I take notes, make quick sketches... with the goal of creating several visually striking proposals that maximize interest in your distribution and marketing strategy. When some of these ideas come close to what I’m looking for, I create several simple sketches.

  • I send you a PDF with these sketches and an explanation for each one. At this stage, you will share your preferences and select the most suitable option. At this point, you can also discuss possible changes.

  • In the phase where the final sketch has already been approved, two changes are included, as long as they are reasonable. If the work is highly advanced and the change is significant (repainting/redesigning), each change will incur an additional cost. I may send you phases of the process, and once it's finished, I will deliver the final art.

Final art specifications, unless you request other features:
    Dimensions: 27 x 40 inches
    Resolution: 300 DPI
    Color: RGB
    Format: PSD

  • I create the poster from scratch, starting with the ideas and concepts through to the composition and final artwork.

As you may have seen in my portfolio, my specialty is digital painting, but I can use photographs if I consider them a necessary resource for the best result of the Poster.
